Riding Lessons
Private, semi-private and group lessons are available. Depending on the rider's level, lessons will be either in the ring and/or on the trail. Groups will be arranged by skill level and where possible by age group. Introductory Lessons PackagesThis package includes two 1/2 hour private lessons. This package is designed for new and beginner riders. During the first lesson, the rider is taught safety procedures, how to properly groom and tack up a horse, and how to mount the horse. By the second lesson, the student grooms, tacks up and mounts the horse learning control and basic positions. Depending on the age and ability of the rider, riders will get more riding instruction at each introductory session. Riding LessonsLessons may be taken as a 1/2 hour private, 1 hour private, 1 hour semi-private, or 1 hour group (3 or more riders). Riders will progress through a series of riding skills and will be grouped with students of the same ability and whenever possible, similar age groups. Riders are encouraged to join a weekly riding group once their skills allow them to safely participate. Riders may choose to learn English or Western styles of riding. As riders advance, in addition to flat work, they may also work on jumping. Lessons are taught most days and are held between 10 am and dark. Lessons are to be scheduled in advance.
Jumping LessonsCobble Hill Farm offers instruction in jumping and eventing. Beginners ride in the ring for jumping lessons. Balance, positioning and confidence are all stressed. Once a student and their horse are confident over a jumping course in the ring, our riders love to jump on the outdoor course at our farm. Jumping instruction can be incorporated into a regular lesson schedule or special classes - private or group - can be designed. Here, Karrie is jumping her horse, Hunter. Karrie is the head instructor at the farm.
